Just when you think your world has come to a screeching halt, you find new hope.
Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) affects approximately one in six people, where roughly 91% of cases occur in females with a peak incidence in the 21–50 age group.
While there isn’t currently a cure, symptom remission is achievable. With proper support and guidance from an MCAS-literate healthcare provider, you can – no – you WILL get there!
We’re here to offer you support … and new hope.
Have you been diagnosed with MCAS, or suspect you have it? Our founder is a naturopathic physician who has MCAS and understands first-hand how scary the diagnosis and symptoms can be. You may feel alone on your journey, but rest assured, you are not alone. Working with an MCAS-literate healthcare provider who understands both sides of the coin—as patient and doctor—makes a big difference. We’re here for you, with you, for every step of your journey with the goal of reaching symptom remission.
Can I have that?
Even the most common, seemingly benign foods can cause reactions in some people with MCAS. Navigating your nutrition can be frustrating – and limiting. Understanding how foods affect your body and learning what you can do to mitigate reactions is key to symptom remission.
While celery is considered a low-histamine food, two stalks (~10 g) or more is considered high FODMaP and can cause reactions in some people with MCAS.
Symptoms
MCAS affects each individual differently. Some symptoms can escalate into anaphylaxis and become life-threatening. While there are commonly known symptoms, your experience is unique, making diagnosis challenging. Working with an MCAS-literate healthcare provider can help you gain a deeper understanding of your symptoms and learn how to manage them safely and effectively.
